THE DREAM CATCHER

Have you ever played the role of the dream catcher?
You may feel inclined to exclaim but I feel you should know
That my dreams have their own dreams,
That my voices have their own voices.
Call me crazy but,
Have you ever fallen asleep
And felt your voices touch each other?
Have you ever felt them touch you?
Like a cool ocean breeze,
Salty, tangible voices with their own weights.
Like a heavy mass or form that has come to rest
Against the side of your face.
Non-threatening but they try,
They strain and push against the invisible barrier
Separating them from you.
From me.
I hear nursery rhymes playing in my head.
Let them in.
