BROKEN MASTERPIECES

I know that it gets hard,
It seems like everything is crashing,
All around you.
I know you've been called names,
Told you won't amount to anything,
Told that you were useless,
A piece of filth you were called.
But I'm here to tell you different,
I'm here to show you a mirror.

Look into the mirror I'm about to show you,
Don't look away no matter what.
This is a revelation of you,
A revelation of who you're meant to be.
Though the mirror is broken,
It'll reveal the true you,
The you hidden from the world.
The you that should be seen.

Yes I see your scars,
I see the tears that fall from your eyes,
The broken pieces you're struggling to pick.
But then,
Who said being broken is a curse?
Broken mirrors show beautiful reflections,
Broken words create poetry.
Broken trees create campfires.
Do you see now?

You're broken,
But you're more useful than ever,
You have more worth than ever before.
You're sought after,
Needed in a broken society.
For only the broken,
Can decipher the broken.
You're a beautiful mess,
A catastrophic wonder.

When I see you,
I see a broken masterpiece,
A beautiful work of art.
When I see you,
I'm grateful for your brokenness,
For it recreated you,
Into the most beautiful aspects of you.
Now hold the broken mirror.
Do you see yourself now?
