How the government sent thugs to make it cease

How some were made to rest in peace

About the government’s deception 

Her well planned dramatization 

Her height of dehumanization 

I’ll tell my kids 

How the previous generation kept quiet 

With suffering as diet 

Imagine how we felt disquiet 

I’ll tell my kids 

How our fathers promised a good Nigeria

How we craved for a better Nigeria
